The history of Oval dates back to 18th century. The first ever known cricket match was played on 18 June, 2014, between London and Dartford. The ground was also a place for execution, hence the matches were no more played here. It has seen continuous issues and transformation during coming years. Finally, in 1845, the Surrey County Cricket Club was established. The Oval of England was the first ground to host a sporting event by using artificial lights, gas lamps were used to light up the place in 1889.
